Kind of Busy

We've been kinda busy around here at the Livingston house. With the kids dental work and mine. I had a root canal done last Thursday and a tooth pulled on Monday. That morning the boys asked where we were going and I told them it was my turn to go to the dentist. Tytus asked if I would be getting shots, probably I said. Then he asked if I was going to cry, I hope not was my reply! Thank goodness for pain killers and for Jody having Mondays and Tuesdays off! I've been kinda loopy needless to say for the last couple of days. And my face is swollen and funny looking, I have the pics to prove it! Now that they pulled my tooth I will be getting implants for my teeth (not the other, just to clarify) in a few months. Can you tell I just love to be at the Dentist!
We took the kids to the Children's Museum on Tuesday and they had a lot of fun. They played house, built things up just to knock them down, saved lives on the rescue chopper, they acted out Little Red Ridding Hood on stage, they gave a news broadcast, played with water and ping pong balls, and played cashier at the grocery store. They were quite busy! Jonas even played a little and got to go down his first slide, which he liked a lot!
Jody and I just finished reading a book called " The Message" by Lance Richardson. I highly recommend it.
"If a man were to die, and then return, what message might those from the world beyond send back to us?" A lot of it of course was focused on family and the importance of service. Starting with our families and then on to others. It's got me thinking a lot about what I can do to help others. I want to serve but where do I start? Do I have time? Will I have a car? And I've realized that it doesn't have to be something big. So I'm going to start looking for ways that I can help. I hope no matter what it is that I can make just a small difference in someone else's life. I also hope that I can be an example and show my kids how to love and serve others.

My perspective by Jody

Well all blog entries previous to this have been entered by my wonderful wife. Don't let the title fool you into thinking I have a completely different perspective of what has been happening in the previous blogs that what my wife came up with because I don't. Actually she has been doing a pretty good job for someone who doesn't consider themselves to computer savy. Well after all the dental work with the kids and Danielle I will show you what I have been doing. I recently put together a storyboard of a music video idea. I did in for Aesop Rock's "No Regrets". I will now hope to be able to import the video because I have been having issues on other websites that I have tried this with. So here we go (keep your fingers crossed).

This video is a poor quality upload because it was originally formated for my ipod but I think you can still get the idea. I will be messing around with it still and may post a better quality version later. I'm still aiming at going to UVU in the fall to finish my degree in digital animation. I am currently working at Morgan Stanley and waiting for my version of the AIG bailout bonus check! Something tells me this will never happen. In the meantime I will just keep on doing tech support and doing my artwork. I recently switched to the swing shift where I now work Wed-Sat 4pm-2:30am. Those are some hard hours but it gives me time at work to do some art projects plus 15% shift differential and will eventually allow me to do some homework while getting paid. So I can't complain.

Other than that I've been watching the March Madness NCAA college basketball tourney religiously! I think Louisville has an honest chance to take it this year. Go Cards!

I'm sure that Danielle will keep everybody updated with the kids activities so I will just briefly mention a few. I will be going on Friday to the Daddy Donut day at school with Danielle Lila (these are the days I pick to help support my daughters education not the parent teacher conference day!) We will be getting Tytus registered for kindergarden and Isaiah for a concealed weapons permit. I was just kidding about the latter, I just wanted to make sure you were still awake. We will hopefully be signing the boys up for soccer soon and Danielle Lila for either Dance, Piano, or Hezbollah camp. I think she would fair well as a terrorist the way she handles her brothers (just kidding). Thats about it for my perspective for now. Enjoy

The Bad Guy

I was known as the bad guy the other day. I had to take Danielle Lila and Tytus to the dentist to have some work done. Danielle had a retainer put in to help stop sucking her thumb. She was very upset and crying when she said" I used to talk just fine. It's all your fault because you paid for this!" Tytus had to be sedated. Poor thing was soo moody and out of it! At one point he told his dad that he saw two Jody's. He made him walk away and come back. "See you have two heads!" It was pretty funny.

Daniela had to make a leprechuan trap for school. Of course it was a family project! With a lot of help from dad and some from mom it turned out great.

Getting Settled

Well I'm really excited to start this blog and hope that others will enjoy reading it! A lot has been going on for the Livingstons these past few months. We were living with Roque and Rosa for a few months. I'm grateful for them and the help they gave us! They have an awesome loving family!

We have now moved into a basement apartment in Highland City Utah. Many of you may wonder why Highland? Well it is in the middle of where Jody will be working and going to school. He will soon be going to UVU.

Danielle Lila is adjusting well at her new school. On her first day the teacher said that all the girls fought over who would sit by her. She also gets to ride the bus and enjoys it very much. She lost her first tooth this month and was very excited. She was showing her dad how it was barely hanging on and didn't even realize that he had pulled it out! Of course it was a plus that the Tooth Fairy came!

Jody Started a new shift a work . He works 4 tens, Wed-Sat. He works the night shift from 4pm-2:30 am. He's been waiting for an opening for over a year now. We are both actually liking it pretty well.

The boys are doing good. We're getting excited for Tytus to be going to Kindergarden this fall and are in the process of getting him registered. Isaiah is full of tons of energy and loves to play with his big brother and sister! Jonas is now 7 months and is getting so big. He is starting the army crawl. He loves to eat bananas and drink his juice. The kids just love him of course.

Last month we made a car seat switch for the 3 older kids. They all feel so much bigger. They also aren't sitting right next to eachother witch means that Isaiah can't bug them by hitting them whenever he wants.

As for myself, I have been keeping busy of course with the kids. I also have been doing a lot of reading and exercising. I've been doing an exercising program called Power 90 X and I've been watching not what I eat but how much. It's been hard but well worth it. I've lost 11 lbs so far and I still have 5 weeks to go! (Much thanks to my support team, Jody, Roque and Rosa!) I'm getting excited for the scrapbook expo coming up this next weekend! Tina and I are going again. We have a lot of fun! We also like to get together and work on pages and projects.

All in all we are doing well. Learning, growing and trying to have fun while we're doing it!
